Harmony

Harmony is a master-planned community built around a conservation-forward concept: roughly a third of the community's 11,000+ acres is preserved as wetlands, upland habitat, and trail corridors. Buck Lake is the literal center of the plan — residents can kayak from community docks, cast for bass from the bank, or watch alligators and wading birds from the adjacent boardwalk. A traditional grid-street town square with a small retail village, community pool, and event lawn gives Harmony a sense of civic structure unusual in newer Florida development.

Location and commute

Harmony sits along US-192 in the southernmost portion of Osceola County, approximately 10 miles east of the Florida Turnpike interchange at Kissimmee and 35 miles southeast of downtown Orlando. The commute north toward Orlando International Airport runs roughly 30 miles via US-192 to the Florida Turnpike, or via CR-15 (Narcoossee Road) through St. Cloud and the Lake Nona corridor — a route that becomes less predictable as Lake Nona build-out traffic grows. Harmony is a genuinely rural-edge location; buyers should test the commute at their peak travel hours before deciding.

Buck Lake and outdoor amenities

Buck Lake is a 225-acre natural lake at the heart of the Harmony plan, accessed from community docks and a covered boathouse on the west shore. The lake supports a healthy bass fishery and is used for kayaking and non-motorized watercraft. Surrounding conservation areas include walking and biking trails through oak-palmetto flatwoods, pine uplands, and wetland buffers. A second smaller lake, Cat Lake, is also within the community boundaries. The trails connect to a planned regional greenway corridor.

Town center and daily services

Harmony's town square includes a small cluster of retail — a salon, a veterinary office, and light neighborhood services — anchored by a community pool and events lawn. For grocery, medical, and most daily needs, residents drive to the US-192 commercial corridor west toward Kissimmee (Publix, Walmart, chain restaurants are approximately 5–7 miles away) or east toward St. Cloud. A Harmony town center Publix-anchored development has been discussed in planning documents; buyers should verify current status with the community directly.

Schools

Harmony is served by one of the county's purpose-built school campuses: Harmony Community School (Pre-K through 8th grade) and Harmony High School share a campus on the community's northern edge. Both schools have historically earned high performance ratings within the Osceola County School District. School performance data changes year to year; verify current ratings with the Florida Department of Education and confirm specific attendance boundaries with the Osceola County School District for any address under consideration.

Housing types and HOA

Harmony's residential fabric spans a wide range: estate lots along US-192 with acreage, smaller courtyard homes and townhomes near the town center, single-family neighborhoods on interior streets, and lakefront sites with direct Buck Lake access. The community is governed by a Community Development District (CDD) and an HOA; both assessments appear on tax bills. HOA fees cover amenities including pools, recreational buildings, and trail maintenance. CDD assessments cover infrastructure bonds. Buyers should request a current CDD and HOA disclosure before making an offer.
